About Us

Peninsula Optical was founded in 1987 by our President, Blayne Rollman, who has worked in the optical industry since 1971. The principles of Quality, Consistency and Excellence were born out of Blayne’s early experience in eye care practices. When he founded Peninsula, he was determined to create an atmosphere of unparalleled customer service and our history attests to the success of that goal.

As the optical industry has grown and changed, so has Peninsula Optical. From its modest start in 1987, Peninsula has grown into a highly sophisticated, technologically advanced optical lab. Now on our third generation of coating technologies, our first in-house AR coating lab opened in 2004 and we have one of the most experienced staff of technicians in any independent AR lab.

With the technological advances in our industry, many labs are more and more "hanging their hat" on automation and process control and less on personal know how. At Peninsula, many of our key positions are manned by optical industry veterans with 20 plus years of experience.
